About
The Africa Capital Report
A capital intelligence, media, and convening institution — reporting on how and why capital actually behaves in African markets.
Our conviction
Capital moves for reasons, and those reasons are rarely explained well.
Who we are
Across African markets, billions in capital flow every year — into funds, ventures, banks, sovereigns, and everything between. Yet the why behind those flows is consistently under-examined. Deals get announced. Rankings get published. Reports get filed. But the political economy underneath — the incentives, the institutions, the power — goes largely untold.
The Africa Capital Report exists to tell that story properly. We are not a deal-tracker or a press-release aggregator. We are a capital intelligence outfit — reporting, researching, and convening around how and why capital actually behaves in African markets, for the people who move it, allocate it, and depend on it.
What we do
Built on three pillars
Capital Intelligence & Research
Original analysis on capital flows, institutional behavior, and market structure across African economies — grounded in primary data and firsthand access rather than recycled headlines.
Media
Long-form journalism, columns, and commentary — including Coffee & Capital — that make the mechanics of African capital markets legible to a wider audience.
Convening & Community
Bringing together the investors, operators, regulators, and institutions who shape capital markets, to have the conversations the data alone can't have.
Why it matters
Africa's capital markets are still being defined. The institutions, norms, and narratives being built today will shape how capital flows for decades. Our role is to document that process honestly — without an advisory mandate, without a stake in the outcome, and without the shortcuts that flatten complex capital dynamics into headlines.
How we work
Editorial standards
Independence
We carry no advisory mandate. We do not accept payment, equity, or in-kind arrangements in exchange for coverage, favorable framing, or omission. Where a conflict of interest exists, it is disclosed — not hidden.
Rigor over recycling
We do not publish on press releases or secondhand aggregation alone. Every piece is expected to add something that didn't exist in the public record before.
Evidence & sourcing
Claims about capital flows, deal terms, or institutional behavior are sourced and, where possible, corroborated by more than one source. Where data is contested, we say so rather than presenting false precision.
Corrections
When errors happen, we correct them plainly, on the record, and without burying the correction — with a visible note explaining what changed and why.
This is a summary. The full Editorial Standards policy is published as a dedicated page.
Ownership & independence
The Africa Capital Report is published by Boodl. Solutions, a capital intelligence and advisory firm, and operates as a subsidiary of Boodl. Solutions. Our editorial team operates independently of Boodl.'s advisory mandates and client relationships. Where a story touches on a current or former Boodl. client or engagement, that relationship is disclosed in the piece.
