Goldman Sachs has opened recruiting for its 2027 intake of internships and full-time graduate programs, spanning investment banking, FICC & equities, asset management, wealth management, global investment research, engineering, risk, and operations. For readers building careers in or around African capital markets, the relevant detail is regional: the EMEA pathway (which includes African applicants) sits alongside the Americas, Asia-Pacific, and India tracks, and several programs are structured specifically around advanced-degree and early-career candidates rather than only final-year undergraduates.
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis in most regions, and roles close once filled—early submission matters more than the nominal deadline
The Programmes
Summer Analyst Internship (2027) is open across the Americas, Asia-Pacific, EMEA, and India. Runs roughly 9–11 weeks and targets undergraduate and master’s students in their penultimate year. Interns work directly alongside full-time deal and coverage teams rather than in a segregated training track.
Summer Associate Internship (2027) The MBA and advanced-degree equivalent of the analyst internship is open in the Americas, Asia-Pacific, and EMEA.
New Analyst Program (Full-Time) For students graduating between December 2026 and July 2027, starting summer 2027. Open across all four major regions, including EMEA.
New Associate Program (Full-Time) For candidates with 2–5 years of experience holding an advanced degree (MBA, JD, or equivalent), also starting summer 2027.
Additional Pathways: Off-cycle internships in Asia-Pacific, a work placement program in EMEA, Japan-specific programs and short-term internships, and exploratory “insight” events for candidates earlier in their pipeline.
The Process
Goldman’s standard route runs: online application → HireVue or video interview → assessment center or final-round interviews. Divisional descriptions vary meaningfully—investment banking, markets, asset management, technology, and risk each carry distinct case formats and technical bars—and the bank recommends reviewing the specific division before applying rather than submitting a generic application across tracks.
